Comprehensive Consulting & Project Management Support
RODCAL provided strategic consulting and project management support for the INEA Project, bringing expertise in contracting, financial structuring, procurement, and project control. The INEA Project focuses on the sustainable development of lignite deposits in the Río Coyle region, Santa Cruz Province. Leveraging Underground Coal Gasification (UCG) technology, the project aims to produce Syngas, facilitating the generation of electric power, synthetic fuels, and high-value chemical products to drive industrial and energy advancements.
Rodcal has provided Braskem Idesa in Mexico with Project Management Services for the $5.2 billion petrochemical complex:
Assigned key personnel to the project management team for engineering, planning, and cost estimation.
The project’s core objective was to meet the demand from the Mexican market, which currently imports 1 million tons of polyethylene annually. Located in the Coatzacoalcos Petrochemical Complex in the city of Nachital, state of Veracruz, the new project is scheduled for start-up in early 2015. The project is strategically located in an area with easy access to highways, ports and railroads, facilitating the distribution of the product within Mexico and abroad, in addition to the potential for the construction of new warehouses.
Since 2010 Rodcal has provided consulting services contracted by BRASKEM IDESA in Mexico for the design of the contracting strategy for the ETILENO XXI project, The scope of the services include the implementation of the contracting strategy working as part of the owner team that prepared the evaluation of the proposals , recommendation and negotiations of the FEED and EPC contract conditions.
Rodcal has provided Braskem Idesa in Mexico with Project Management Services for the ETILENO XXI project, assigning key personnel to the Project Management Team in the areas of Engineering, Planning, and Cost Estimation. During the execution of the project, the Rodcal team performed several critical activities, including construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning planning for all the plants. They also managed the integrated project schedule and supervised interfaces between EPC contracts, cost control, engineering, and procurement.
The team reviewed cost estimations, progress reports, and plan vs. actual percentage complete curves. They also tracked real quantities executed, direct and indirect labor, construction equipment, and subcontracts. Rodcal facilitated coordination between the different locations where the FEEDs were executed and developed procurement strategies for local and foreign operations. Their scope included planning for purchase orders, expediting, logistics, and inspection, as well as quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) for engineering products. Additionally, they analyzed and evaluated claims and change orders while ensuring coordination with local authorities for public services like power, gas, and water.
Other activities performed by the Rodcal team included electromechanical contract control for the cracker plant and monitoring productivity in civil, piping, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation works. They implemented safety procedures, conducted value engineering to improve construction performance, and monitored cleaning systems for pre-commissioning. Finally, they ensured efficient oversight of commissioning activities to meet project requirements.
